My top 5 favourite current players in Cricket

Hello FourSixCricket fans and welcome to another post! I will be talking about my top 5 favourite current Cricketers and this doesn’t mean I’m saying these are the best players, these are just my favourites in my opinion. Also, this list isn’t in any order.

James Anderson

Anderson is a fantastic player for England and his averagesĀ  just don’t show it! A reason I like Anderson so much is his consistency (I don’t mean early on his career!) he almost always seems to pick up a few wickets every match and is one of the best swing bowlers of all time. Without him England’s bowling attack would be a mess! Even with Stuart Broad.

A.B De Villiers

One of the most entertaining players to watch inĀ  the world, De Villiers not only is one of the best Batsman in the world but is also a decent keeper! Despite being out of the Test side for a little while you can still see how much of a world class player he is – his average in ODI is better than most people could ever dream of in Test! He also scored the fastest 100 EVER against the West Indies in just 31 BALLS! so he deserves a spot in this list.

Chris Gayle

Now, I understand some people might think he’s an idiot since he’s always falling out with the West Indies board, but I love him for his talent! He scored the joint fastest Big Bash 50 and he averages an amazing 40 in T20s and people forget that he can bowl too! Not only his talent itself makes him great but he is a fun character to have in your team and a very good entertainer for the fans.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Dhoni, some people would say he is one of the best Wicket Keepers of all time but not only his keeping skills itself are amazing, his limited over batting is AMAZING as well! Like many players on this list, Dhoni plays in T20 leagues like the IPL and is always amazing to watch. With an outstanding average of 52 in ODI and 35 in T20I, there is no doubt that he his one of the best players on the planet.

Joe Root

Unlike lots of players on this list, Root is amazing at ALL FORMS of the game. From Test matches to T20’s Joe Root has all the batting skills in the book. He is also a handy part time bowler. He has amazing averages with a test match average of 54, a T20I average of 40 and an ODI average of 49. Also in the short time of captaining England he has won most of his matches and beat South Africa in a very tough series!
